Hi,

wouldn't it be cool if ktorrent would stop using khtml for its search but a script system. Those scripts could visit the search sites, parse the results and return them to ktorrent.
Ktorrent itself could then use these results and show them in a neat, clean list. When you click on an entry the torrent would be downloaded automatically.
This would provide a emule/amule like userfriendlyness for the torrent network. And yes, amaroK's lyric feature inspired this thought :)

Post your opinions about that.

Cheers,
Tony.

Yep, it would be pretty great feature I must agree.
There are many problems, however. First of all, there are only two of us working on KT currently, and there are tons of stuff that needs to be done before we could even think of doing something like this.
Then, since we only pass queries to the websites it could cause lots of problems when those websites would change their html so we would constantly need to update the code to follow that changes. Not to mention ugly parsing job...

All in all, it would be a great feature (I would definitely use it), so if there's anybody willing to write a parsing code and update it from time to time I'm sure we'd integrate it in KT (as a plugin or something).
