How To Recover from KTorrent 1.2-5 Crashing On Startup

(Ok, I got impatient and deleted two tor directories for torrents I was seeing way past 1:1 - ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor6 ...etc. KTorrent starts and now I'm off to the races. Tho, if you happen to know a solution to this problem, it wouldn't hurt to know for future reference. Cheers!)

My laptop overheated and shut off. Now KTorrent always crashes on start-up. I'm guessing a KTorrent working file is corrupt. Before I nuke all the downloads and .kde/... files, is there anything I can safely delete? ...i.e. I'm 90% in on two 10GB downloads and not looking forward to loosing them!

Thanks,

Rob

I would suggest that you try to figure out which tor dir is causing the problem by some selective renaming. And then put that dir in a tar or zip file and send it to me for debugging.

Then you just delete this tor dir and use the import plugin to continue your download.

Hi George,

If this happens again, I'll archive the bad tor directory and get in touch with you. Sorry I didn't save the last one...
