With the latest SVN you can add trackers manually. We cannot allow two torrents with the same info hash, because if somebody connects to you for that info_hash, how are you going decide to which torrent you are going to assign that peer ?

It should work with automake, try it with unsermake, see what that gives.

Download this http://ktorrent.pwsp.net/downloads/unsermake.tar.gz

Untar it somewhere, cd to the ktorrent dir, make sure the unsermake executable is in your path, then do this :

unsermake -f Makefile.cvs
./configure
unsermake
unsermake install

It requires python, but all linux distros come with that.

IMO it would be best for having a different tool for that, because it's out of the procedure of adding a torrent in a normal bittorrent client.

Under windows there was a tool called torrentspy that only scraped the tracker so that you could spy on the swarm. Perhaps it will run under wine: http://torrentspy.sourceforge.net/
The down side with this program is though, that basing a conclusion on scraped information isn't always very reliable when i comes to speed.

sure i have not thought of that

yes in fact in the site where i got the 2 torrents they show information about seeders and leechers.(approx. the same numbers for each) but i wanted to try anyway to see which one works best.

yes there is torrentinfo-console with bittorrent but it does not show the seeders and leechers.

i made my own python script for that but may be it is not very reliable...
