when i add a torrent from the pop-up of konqueror "open with ktorrent" ktorrent which on my 4th desktop is switched to the desktop where konqueror is . that's annoying cause i had to switch it back to the 4th desktop.

has it something to do with ktorrent or is it normal behavior ?

I use the force to 4th desktop option on kwin to force ktorrent to stay on the 4th desktop ... but i ask anyway my question ....

This is standard KDE behavior (maybe you can change it with a config option, don't know)

For most applications this is probably good, if you click on a PDF you want to see the PDF viewer. But for KT maybe this is not ideal, but I don't know how to change it, I don't even know if it is possible.

i found a work-around by using some option of kwin in right-click menu in top bar of the window -> advanced -> special settings of application -> desktop check force ...

after ktorrent changes desktop, settings/configure dialog is displayed back on desktop ktorrent was initially?! is this also expected behaviour?

I'm with IceWM, no KDE running beyond ktorrent, if this helps. Thanks.

The window manager decides on which desktop to show a window, KT doesn't have any notion of desktops.

I won't argue. The fact is that ktorrent somehow changes desktop. Perhaps the KDE env (libs) is the reason.

anyway...

Try newest KDE 3.5.2 - maybe it will solve your problem.
