is it per torrent ? to limit the upload speed per torrent ?
or to limit the upload speed used by ktorrent ?

because whatever i set that uplaod speed limit ktorrent suck up all my upload !

so i can surf but that's slow.

it is even worse with the last svn 530101

It limits the global upload speed, and I never had a problem with it up to the currently running 524814 (I use to switch it to a lower speed when I'm at front of the system)

However, I think to remember someone (Ivan?) writing about a possible problem if limiting upload and download concurrently ...

George made some changes to download/upload cap and as far as I know, download cap is much better now.

I'm sure he will know more about this problem.

Download cap is now fixed. Upload cap has been working for a long time now. But upload cap is only for the actual data going out. You have to take into account that other protocoll messages will take around 0.5 - 1 KB/s additional bandwith.

There is other overhead generated probably by connection attempts, my guess is that what you are seeing is this, I still need to address this.

i limit my upload speed to 12k/s in ktorrent and i see with conky (not a specially good way) that i upload at 20k/s most of the time.

and just check on http://home.tele2.fr/solsTiCe/img/ppp0-20060416.png

i am on IRC but that does not explain the difference between 12k/s and 20k/s

p.s:
i just switch back to official bittorrent (because i got low dl speed with ktorrent on a torrent) and it does not seem to be better here
