Share ratio settings

Fri Apr 28, 2006 1:18 pm
Hi,

I think share ratio default value should be changed, because when I'm seeding something and need to set max ratio, then I must click on checkbox and type the value. Problem is when share ratio is already above 1.0 because clicking on checkbox changes the value to 1.0 which stops seeding immediately and it'l start again after value is changed. That's pretty odd behaviour :?

I thought you could set share rati 0.00 as default when I click on the checkbox, but I know lot of people want set limit to 1.0 so the best idea I have is this:

1. max ratio edit enabled all the time
2. default value 0.0 ( = unlimited)
3. when I change the ratio, "autoselect" checkbox
4. when I unselet check box, change the value to 0.0
5. when I click the checkbox, change the value to 1.0

afaik 4. and 5. is working already

What do you think about this?

We could just set the default to 0.0, I kind of like the check box.

I like the check box too, for those torrents you want unlimited sharing just uncheck it. But I think default to 1 is better, if you want unlimited don't check it. But a way to edit it before checking makes sense.

Also a way to set global defaults had been nice, like setting your default share ratio and a way to choose 'use limit' by default.

Also, would it be possible to change the upper limit of the share ratio to something higher than 9.99? That currently seems to be the maximum it can be set to.

I like the checkbox though because it means I can have unlimited seeding on some torrents.

I must have forgotten that there could be more cyphers when I used RegExpression. I'll fix it.
