Hi everyone,
I know there's unlikely to be a Windows port of KTorrent any time soon (big job!), but how well does KTorrent compile on a mac? I have several OSX-using friends who have been using bloated clients but want to switch to a Mac. Is there anyone who has any first hand experience with it on a mac or would be willing to try a compile for me? Has there been any though of an OSX port for KTorrent? Regards, Alex |

KTorrent needs KDE not just Qt, so you couldn't port it with Qt/Mac. A port of KDE to mac is a prerequisite to running KTorrent on a mac without an X server. See:
http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page=KDE/Mac http://kde.opendarwin.org/ for info on KDE/Mac. Doesn't look like it would be a simple matter to get KTorrent running, since those pages basically all say "this probably won't work, and it may not even intstall properly". Also, that's based on development versions of KDE4, so more work would be necissary to port KTorrent to that first. Apparently it's easy to put KDE on a mac with Fink (using the X server), so it might be not too difficult to port KTorrent. Anyone interested in trying to compile KTorrent in this situation and reporting what happens? |
