Seems if the filesystem that /home is on is remouted readonly, ktorrent will crash.

story: Last night somehow a folder in /home got corrupted somehow, and ext3 remouted /home readonly automatically.

It shouldn't crash, it should just report the failure to write. Maybe this is what happened and KT tried to stop the download, and during a stop it will also write files, which obviously will fail.

Do you have a backtrace ?

It normally reports the failure when things fail.. but the fs getting forced to readonly mode seems to freak allot of things out, kmail/kontact crashed as well.

sadly no I don't have a backtrace, I was more worried about my /home than anything, so I immediatley ran fsck, and rebooted since it wouldn't let me remount it readwrite.

I can understand that, we'll see if we can fix this, but it is not high on my priority list at the moment. Not to mention I need some way to trigger a remount as readonly, I'm not sure if you can do this when the filesystem is in use.

Technically this should work:

[code]mount -o remount,ro /mount/point[code]
or
[code]mount -o remount,ro /dev/device[code]
