[Bug] Very slow gui update

Sat Jun 24, 2006 12:11 pm
Using newest SVN in kubuntu dapper drake ,and I it isn`t slowing down my pc ,but it looks like that the gui doesn`t update and ktorrent rarely responds ,here are some screenshots :

Edit: If I restart kt (after killall ktorrent ),it runs nicely for a while....

Yeah this looks like the same problem i had yesterday, i already told George about it.

The less torrents running the latter this occurs here. For the time-being i run tree torrents max and stop & restart KTorent after 30 minutes.(with kteatime, so i don't forget  )

The good thing is ,that it looks like only the gui stops responding ,I mean if I do a netstat there are connections.

Edit: but I see that kt looses the transfers after a while too.

I'm working on it, more or less fixed at the moment, but I have somehow created a bug in the upload cap, which causes around 20 KB/s extra bandwith to be used. Once this is fixed, I will commit it.

Allright, the fixes are in, CPU usage should be back to normal.

(Note, we will do some profiling and optimizing before the final release).

Hmm, at the moment kde svn thinks there is no update. Lets hope they have no big problems.

Yep, the same here.

http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/network/ktorrent/ (Rev 554358)
http://cia.navi.cx/stats/project/kde/kt ... sage/40998 (Rev 554676)

That makes me really angry, because I have the same problems here and the svn will not give me the fix :(

Tell me when the svn realy works ,I mean no gui update problems and stuff like that ,because my ratios are down at the private trackers ,and I can`t test kt if I`m not certain that It will work ,cause it will just mess up my ratios.

The code is in, and I did an svn up on a different copy of the KT code. It seems to me that this websvn thingy is having problems.

A normal svn up with my anonymous checkout gives me the same revisions number.

PS: A new checkout gives me the same. So there is a problem with the kde svn

Indeed a fresh checkout gives me old code, but svn up worked at some point in time because my other copy is up to date.

irc.freenode.org/#kde wrote:13:26 < kamel> or could it be that anonsvn. and svn.kde.org are hard seperated and anonsvn will only be updated after some hours (automatic..) and no update happend?
13:26 < thiago> the anonsvn is just not synced
13:27 < thiago> yes, they are separate
13:27 < kamel> ahh
13:27 < kamel> good to know
13:27 < thiago> the anonsvn machine has a load average of 18, which is unacceptable for our main repository
13:27 < thiago> (yes, 18, that's not a typo)
13:28 < kamel> ok, do you know when they will normally be synced?
13:29 < thiago> they are normally synced every few minutes
13:29 < kamel> ok, then the sync routine is not working normally
13:29 < thiago> yep

EDIT: Looks like fixed now

I told them yesterday evening in #kde that there was a problem with kde svn, but they said the servers were running fine and they just didn't respond to my information. :(

Anyway, good to know it's working again.
