Is kt desinged only to run with a few (<30) torrents?this error is very anoying when I leave my pc for a few hours and see that it`s not doing anything because there are "too many files open".What does this mean?

Each process has a limited amount of files it can open and network connections are also files. Usually this limit is set to 1024, and with 30 torrents you can probably hit this limit pretty easily. You can change this using ulimit, though you probably need to be root to do this. |

How come utorrent emulated with wine never reaches this limit? |

Yep. In debian/ubuntu this works like: vim /etc/security/limits.conf And add:
After doing this, the limit is set on 1200 and can changed by the user to max 1300. This probable works the same in other distro's. Personally i haven't got issues running out of file limits with the standard limit for months on the svn version. Dunno about utorrent though, sorry. |

Don't know, they probably divide this evenly among torrents, or they have a tighter limit on the number of connections per torrent. |
