Hi

I've been using Ktorrent 1.2 without any kinf of problem, but after sometime and because some bugs, i decided to upgrade to 2.0.2, that was already out.

I downloaded the tar.gz and installed it without problems.

After installing, the downloads started to be really slow. I thought it could be a matter of seeds or some, but it wasn't, there was like 50+ seeds on some which wouldn't almost start... After some time, i realized, that it was just not a problem of ktorrent. Trying to apt-get dist-upgrade the system, i got a download speed of about 5% of what i had before, and closing ktorrent made apt gain full speed again (and it's hard to download 116 MB of packages at 21 Kb when you have a 4Mb connection...

I don't know exactly where the bug may be, but it's there... Just hope it gets fixed for the new release. I've been searching the forums but haven't found anything about this.

Hope you the best :)

That's odd. I've never seen or heard of that one before.
Your're not taking too much connections in KTorrent? Too much can slow your connection down seriously.(and your ISP doesn't like it either, but that's another topic)

Because you've compiled from source, you have removed the previous version right?

Both KT and apt-get are slow ?

That is certainly strange, if one of the two was slow, well that just means that the kernel is giving priority to the packets of KT or apt-get.

If you set down and upload limits, does the same happen ? Also how much CPU is KT using when you get slow speeds ?
