Bunch of issues

Sat Sep 09, 2006 9:22 pm
Below I present a bunch of issues that I have discovered:

Primo, latest svn build doesn't want to start minimized.

Secundo, torrent file deleting doesn't work properly when scanplugin path is set to my home dir (/home/lucke/blahblah.torrent not found - it seems as if it's deleted first and then tried to be added...?)

Tertio, option "keep seeding after download is completed" doesn't seem to have any impact (i.e. it keeps seeding even when this option is disabled).

Additionally, ktorrent crashes occasionally when closing, but that one needs some more tracking.

All of aforementioned issues seem to be present in both 2.0.2 and latest svn, aside of the first one.

Keep up the great work anyway, guys!

Could you explain this a bit more? A few steps to reproduce this would be great.

Yep, this needs to be fixed....

Hym, I did some further testing and I'm a bit confused. It seems it works without a hitch in a stable version, yet in svn I am unable to load any torrent when torrent deleting option is enabled (I'm pretty sure it loaded and deleted torrents from /home/lucke/torrents yesterday). Anyway, KT svn just complains that "The file of folder $PATH_TO_TORRENT doesn't exist", whereas the torrent get deleted. To reproduce simply set path to some dir, enable torrent deleting and save torrent there.

I managed to reproduce it. I'm working on a fix.

That's an issue with the new IDEAl style GUI, I still need to fix it. It also does not remember the window size when you maximize it.

Tertio, option "keep seeding after download is completed" doesn't seem to have any impact (i.e. it keeps seeding even when this option is disabled).

We know, this has been broken for a long time until some guy came along and reported it a couple of weeks ago. But we haven't found the time yet to do it.

Maybe we should just remove it, the fact that it took a very long time for anybody to notice it, leads me to believe that not many people are using it.

I fixed that 10 minutes ago.

Okay I've found out what's wrong. There were recent changes to the torrent loading mechanism that caused this. Apparently, torrents were loaded in the background and scanfolder code deleted them before they were actually loaded.

Anyway, I think we've fixed this. George placed a signal to notify when torrents are loaded and I changed my code to use this signal. As far as I could test it - it worked OK.

Fix is in SVN repository (trunk).

I confirm it seems to work okay.

Now only the issue with starting minimized/remembering window size keeps me from enjoying IDEAl KTorrent ;-)

I've just fixed this. It should work now.
