Performance issues with MANY torrents?

By MANY, I mean around 60, 30 in the uploads tab (many not seeding, marked as Complete), and 30 in the downloads tab. When I had my uploads tab full of stuff (mainly to keep the rss feed plugin from downloading the same thing repeatedly from demonoid), I'd rarely see any download speeds over 100KB/s (my max sustained is about 1.12MB/s), usually around 60KB/s or less. After I removed the entire list of torrents in the upload tab, the download speed almost immediately jumped to over 200KB/s. It wasn't permanent, but I just haven't seen that kind of speed from ktorrent in months.

Maybe I just miss the "speed" when it happens, but its really weird, a torrent will go at like 10KB/s or less for hours or days (and only have a fraction of the entire torrent downloaded), and then jump for a very short period, and then its done. It does that often enough that its left me wondering whats going on.

And now that I've added quite a few new torrents with more seeds than peers, and a small number of peers, I find my download speed is pretty low (less than 100KB/s total), normally (with other clients) I'd find my download being maxed for a while after loading it up like this.

And one more odd thing I've noticed, even though it sees peers, and lists them in the "peers" tab, and occasionally switches a totrrent to "downaloding", it never actually does download anything, just sits there for a while and goes back to stalled, repeatedly for days on end. It also assigns chunks to peers, just nothing seems to happen. oh, and currently right now, I see one with an id of "KTorrent 2.1.D.V" which is assgined a chunk, and doing nothing. this same torrent is even connected to a seed, and so far its at 32KB.

I seem to be using ktorrent svn 587088.

Thanks :)

We just made some improvements which should help with the download speeds.

So far I haven't seen any improvements. Infact, a torrent with thousands of seeds and peers, I have a whole 14 connections (7 peers, 7 seeds). By now it should have attempted to max out my "per torrent connection limit".

14 downloads and 5 uploads with "completed" status.

It seems that my download is hovering around 30KBps now.
