Why not allow user controlled (read not queue manager controlled) torrents go over the max running torrents limit?
It's one of the features I love in azureus, having everything controlled by my normal queue, until I see a torrent chugging along at 2kb/sec, then I set it to force download and my queue will still be "functional", just "skipping" that file. To sum up, my suggestion is to rename maximum downloads/seeds to maximum queue manager controlled downloads/seeds. And allow user controlled torrents to stay user controlled, seperate from the queue system. |

Since here is talking about QM maybe this is right place tu put my sugestion...
I think that QM has to be integrated in Main window... and that simply moving files up or down or clicking on move up move down icons on main toolbar is enough to change queue order. In that case, column Priority should be added so that lists of downloads and uploads can be sorted by Priority, Also it would be great if KTorrent could have Force option so that you can force some torrents despite on global settings . One more thing... Ul/Dl speed limits per torrent is a very useful thing. Doesn't have anything with QM but when I'm in the mood. P.S. Since out there is few veeeery good torrent clients (uTorrent, Azureus...) maybe you should "steal" all the good solutions from them. I use uTorrent in windows and Azureus and KTorrent in Linux and I would really like to see KTorrent fulled with options and settings like Azureus since I like to have native KDE apps on my KDE desktop instead of Java-like Azureus. All the best. |

The following v2.1 will have IDEAl main window style and amongst other things I need to integrate QM to fit somehow. Now, we're using somewhat different queueing system than other clients, maybe that's what's the problem since people are used to popular clients. I'm not sure weather we should ditch our own way, although integrating QM into main window will more/less come closer to what you suggested. I'd like to hear more peoples thoughts. BTW, equivalent for 'forcing' downloads in KT is 'user controlled' except the thing you'll need to obey number of downloads limit (the thing this thread is about actually). |
