By increasing the memory in settings, and of course not a too low/high number of upload slots/upload bandwidth

Yes this got it -- thank you.
1. I wonder if this setting should go under 'Downloads' and possibly have a different description or an expanded description. As in the post: --- low : 10 MB of chunks are kept in ram per torrent medium : 20 MB high : 40 MB * note chunk sizes may vary from 512k to 3MB --- possibly moving the setting and/or changing/adding to the description might cut back on simple support posts like mine -- or worse someone getting frustrated and switches clients (understanding the larger problem is end-user ignorance, but you know where I'm at with this logic). 2. I assume most ppl who are using the torrent network have hispeed, and with file sizes only growing (HD video, Blu-ray dumps, etc) maybe the default should be 40 MB ? I'm sure you guys have debated it until someone passed out, and I apologize if I'm rehashing previous debates/thoughts. I figured I would put it out there as a first time users perspective. |

Currently we have upped the limits to 40, 60 and 80.
It all kind of depends on the chunk size, with 128 KB, 10 MB is normally more then enough with the default connection limits. But once you get into chunk sizes of 1 MB or more it is advisable to set it to high. I wouldn't use 50 upload slots, way to much and with an upload limit of 50 KB/ s, each slot is only gonna get 1 KB/s, which is not much. It is better to give a couple of peers a decent upload rate. |
