I've compiled 2.1beta on my Desktop, looks good. Cant wait for stable version. How long before I will find a rpm in my distro repo? I like to keep my torrent box/server as clean as possible.

Wow i have only just started using ktorrent and im very impressed. Ive come from using a uttorent/tvtad setup to automatically download torrents via rss feed. I was pleasantly suprised that ktorrent has these functions merged together.
A couple of things that could make the client even better. - It would be good if you could put priorities on the RSS feed filters so even if there is 10 objects already queued in the queue manager, if file x comes out than queue jump file, put file at highest priority and downloaded immediately. - one other small thing. A file came out of RSS feed and it was detected under the filter matches but due to the connection being flooded at the time it wasn't able to download the file once it was caught in the filter. Even after restarting ktorrent it didnt try to attempt to download the match. If you could specify a retry interval, say retry once every 2 mins for 10mins or display an error on the screen saying that the file couldn't be downloaded that would add some more polish to the program. Not that i suspect the link to get choked all the time, but there is inconsiderate people in the household. I like the direction this program is headed, if you require another beta tester for bug hunting send me a pm ill be happy to help. |

Thanks for the reply Ivan. I see now that my question was unclear. What I'd like to know is, if there is a scheduled release date for 2.1 Stable? Or will I just have to wait for time to tell?
Also missing from the last post: To everyone involved in development, thank you for all your efforts. I greatly appreciate and enjoy using kt. On another note: I'm not an expert in the field (otherwise I'd offer to help) but is seems like there is a lot of components involved in compiling 2.1beta. Does this mean 2.1 will be considerably "heavier" than 1.x? One thing I like most about kt is how it seems to keep system loads reasonable. |
