Files complete but torrent not

Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:57 am
I have downloaded a 2.6GB torrent.

Originally I removed a 3MB file from being downloaded, but changed my mind so the tracker would show me as a seed and not a leecher. Now all the files are complete but the torrent is showing me at 99.80% complete. Just in case I did a data integrity check, which showed there were no missing chunks (although it did stop checking at 99% and gave me the ok button).

I am using r613282 that was downloaded Dec 13. I have seen posts where the torrent shows complete but files aren't done, but I can't uncheck files and recheck them, so I think this is a separate issue.

If this is fixed already, sorry, but it takes a while to download the svn and recompile on my laptop. But if it is fixed I will gladly do it.

What would be interesting is the logging output (saved in the file ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log)

Start up KT again, and just seed for a while, check what the tracker says about you and then stop seeding and exit KT, and post the logging output, or send it by mail.

Well it seems weird. This time after I restarted ktorrent the torrent registers as 100%. I looked through the log and didn't see anything about it checking the file. I am thinking that it could possibly be the data integrity checks. The first time I restarted it I did not do any checks on the file, where the last time I did.

Quick question... Am I supposed to be seeing all the connection failures and connections denied in my log?

Example

Code: Select all
Initiating connection to 125.22.112.158
Initiating connection to 137.186.197.157
IP 203.211.94.58 is blacklisted. Connection denied.
Initiating connection to 24.224.186.175
Initiating connection to 68.85.137.155
Initiating connection to 89.78.132.61
Authentication to 71.36.74.248 : failure
Authentication to 24.224.186.175 : failure
Initiating connection to 24.224.186.175
Authentication to 24.224.186.175 : failure
Switching back to normal server authenticate
Cannot find PeerManager for hash : 53c8125df819413923e109729d1a5ebdb61b6fd8

Are these people that were found through dht or previous connections I had, that are no longer connectible?

Data checks should have no influence if the same chunks have been found to be downloaded as before.

I'll check everything we send to the tracker in a similar scenario as yours. But don't I expect any problems. Btw, are you sure that the website of said tracker is updated instantly ? Maybe they only update it every 30 minutes.

Yeah, everything is dumped in the log.

Probably, or maybe they have reached the amount of connections they are allowed to have. Or maybe they have stopped sharing that torrent.

.

Well it wasn't so much the tracker registering me properly as seeding a file as ktorrent showing me a torrent I plan on seeding to at least a 2.1 ratio that the download is stalled. I have a slow internet connection and that would have stayed in ktorrent for probably 2 weeks or more.

Oh well no big deal. Everything is working fine now. Probably just a fluke or something screwed up on my end.
