New web interface

Sat Jan 06, 2007 6:05 pm
Hey,

I created a new web interface loosely based on what already was there. I hope others are interested in this version of it too :).

Screenshots:

I created it for ktorrent 2.1beta1, so I don't know if it works in the svn version.

Download url:

Edit: The web interface is now available in ktorrent svn :)

Lets find out, if it works.

I must say it looks nice from the screenshots.

Note: if anybody wants to test this, just untar it where the other web interfaces are stored (if your prefix is /usr, it is /usr/share/apps/ktorrent/www/), restart ktorrent and go the preferences of the web interface and select coldmilk instead of default or mobile.

OK, apart from the login which lacks a proper password box, it seems to be working fine.

Good :)

I updated the tar with fixed password box, as well as another minor fix.

I also like it. We could include it.

I must say it looks even more nice in browser than on screenshots ;)
Nice work.

Seeing your HTML design skills are nice maybe we could recruit you for our website? :)

Wow :-). I really like it

Works fine here too. Just some trivial problems
Global speeds are expressed in kbytes not bytes. (KIO::convertSize in php_interface.cpp)
Code: Select all
Speed     down: 130 bytes/s / up 14 bytes/s

should be
Code: Select all
Speed     down: 130 Kbytes/s / up 14 Kbytes/s

In firefox i can't see progress bar as in konqueror.

In preference i can't select update rate, it is locked on never.

sorry another thing

http://192.168.1.4:8080/interace.php?startall=true is a broken link.
interace.php should be interface.php.

I'd like that. Just to state the obvious, it's under the same license as ktorrent itself.

Thanks :)

Sure, I wouldn't mind doing some work on the website

This must be a change since beta2 (works in the screenshot in first post). I'll fix that

In preference i can't select update rate, it is locked on never.

I did that on purpose, since it's not implemented (yet).

Thanks for pointing out all the errors, I'll fix them soon :)

edit: I updated the tar in first post with fixes

I also noticed that when you are on the torrents page and you click on torrents it does not refresh the page. Possibly you could just link this back to interface.php

I'm working on updating the content without refresh using javascript, so it's better the way it is now.

You can click the logo though, it links back to interface.php

First, does anyone know how to see javascript errors in konqueror?

Alright, here is a new version of the interface. It features:
* Auto-updating information, using javascript and XML.
* REST interface (to get xml data)
* .. well, that's about it. I also added the quit function, it (probably) works with svn.

The web interface currently only works in firefox though, if anyone has any tips on debugging javascript in konqueror, please tell.

Download: http://brannrev.net/coldmilk_0.2_beta.tar

Note: Needs PHP5 (from using DomDocument object). If that's a problem I'll consider porting to PHP4

Settings->Configure Konqueror
select Java & Javascript, and in the Javascript tab Global settings you have a checkbox for report errors. You also have a Enable debugger checkbox.

I have PHP4, and my torrents are not showing up, I need to upgrade ...
