Creating a torrent ate my data :o

Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:55 pm
I tried to create a torrent file for the first time, using the latest svn version. Instead of starting seeding, it complained about data missing (which itself is fishy, it appears from time to time whereas it apparently shouldn't), I clicked recreate and it didn't start seeding - then I noticed my data is missing, aw.

I tried again with a test data and chose not to recreate the data - it didn't start seeding either.

Well, you guys should know how it should work. I can only say something's fishy here.

I noticed this late last night and had no chance to see what's going on. For now, I can confirm that something is indeed wrong.

works fine until 619576 svn revision. I think that 620360 have introduced the bug.

There was a bug with it not remembering the file selection completely (and this didn't result in missing data).

I'll check it out,

OK, it's fixed, it was a minor bug.

Recently I made sure that the files and symlinks are created after the file selection dialog. This had the side effect that after a torrent was created, the symlinks to the data files were not created, so when a newly created torrent got started it could not find the data files.

I have made sure that the symlinks are created when a new torrent is created.
