about foot print..

Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:33 am
I have been using ktorrent since long now, and my favourite tracker is going to ban every client except three of them (azureus, tribler, rtorrent) because they are known not to be derived from bitcomet. I would like to keep using ktorrent (and i supouse it is not derived from bitcomet). is there any way to change the way ktorrent communicates to the tracker in order to simulate the foot print of one of those three clients?
THANKS

Being an open source client it is entirely possible but KTorrent developers definitely will not endorse you doing this...

Doing this will only get you banned on that tracker. Maybe you should talk to tracker admins and explain them that KTorrent is not derived from BitComet and tell them that many private trackers with strict rules (mention BitmeTV and OiNK) have no problems with KT.
