Hi,
From my first impression of the client it looks quite nice, but i have found a couple of things that might fix a number of other issues that people seems to have. So here goes my ideas: When adding a new torrent either via opening a torrent file or having ktorrent auto-add it to the queue. Instead of just adding it and starting to download and/or check already downloaded data it would be much better to put it in 'limbo' and have a maximum number of torrents beeing processed at the moment. Would allow for better control if you are migrating torrent from another client, and from my little experience with ktorrent it seems that the client can crash and that causes it to think all torrents are new so it start overwriting the already complete torrent. (i know, there are more posts about this) Should be quite easy to implement the new queue-status 'Torrent import pending', and it could possibly also remove a couple of thread-related bugs when having to many imports running at the same time. And another minimalistic feature-request just to make it a bit less prone to data-corruption. If the client crashes restart the client with all torrents paused and a status-box for each torrent on what mode it WILL start in and maybe have a "force data-check" to get it to recheck the downloaded data without doing any modifications to the file(s). I think that these 2 things would make people less frustrated since it would be less chance or data-corruption. Keep up the good work, and if i maybe find some time in between work and sleep i might post a patch or 2... =) |
