Hi.

I started downloading a torrent using btdownloadcurses and then decided it was probably time to look for a new interface. Found ktorrent. Nice work.

I stopped btdownloadcurses and got ktorrent to pick it up. The time remaining on the download is now going up. I'm guessing it's because the portion already downloaded by btdownloadcurses was assumed to have been downloaded in zero seconds by ktorrent, and the time remaining is calculated by dividing total downloaded/total time and using that as the rate.

Upon re-starting the download in ktorrent I was shown a remaining time of mere seconds for 3GB of data yet to be downloaded. After several hours that has climbed to a more believable 21 hours. It's still going up.

Regards
Richard

Well, predicting the future can sometimes be a problem :-)

I'll contact Ivan, he wrote the estimator.

Please make sure he knows I'm not referring not to the algorithm per se, but the data it uses.

According to Ivan things have changed with the estimation after 2.0.3, so you should upgrade to 2.1, and see if the same problem occurs.

I can't do this for a while, but I will do it, and get back to you.
