This is mostly a bug fix release, though there have been some pretty big changes under the hood in the networking and webserver code.

George,
Can I have a more detailed changelog of what kind of bugs were fixed? I'd like to get 2.1.1 into Feisty, which is a bit of a stretch right now (it's frozen), especially without good justification... Ubuntu guidelines: * A description of the proposed changes, with sufficient detail to estimate their potential impact on the distribution * A rationale for the exception, explaining the benefit of the change * Any additional information which would be helpful in considering the decision |

Well the changes are listed in the CHangeLog :
Changes in 2.1.1 - Rewrite of webserver - New webgui : coldmilk - Networking thread has been split up in 2 threads, one for upload, one for download - Significant speed improvements when downloading over a LAN However those security fixes in 2.1.2 are probably a better reason to include that release. |
