Thanks!

Wasn't sure where I could put up some feedback about KTorrent, so I apologise if this is the wrong place.

I just want to say thanks for an awesome app. No other torrent app works so well and goes so fast for me (Tried Bittornado, Azureus, Deluge, Bittorrent, etc). I use a GNOME desktop, so I never really thought of trying KTorrent. Then I though, hey, I use Amarok, why not give KTorrent a spin too?

And it works beautifully. I get 10x faster downloads with KTorrent than anything else.

Thanks a lot! Just wanted you to know all the hacking is appreciated!

Seriously, it is actually about ten times faster. I have a **** connection here + am behind a router which won't let me accept connections. The others give me ~5Kb/s where Ktorrent can give me up to ~50Kb/s on a good day.

I'd hear complaints about slowness too, and I have absolutely no idea why it is so much faster for me, but hey, if it ain't broke....

Well, if I've understood the threads here and the changelogs correctly, there's been some quite extensive optimizations in the latest versions.

And have you thought about switching to KDE completely;)? Not to take any well-deserved honour from the KTorrent devs, but I believe the KDE libraries help out quite a bit.

Funny you should suggest that. I am seriously considering switching to KDE - see http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread. ... ost2264702.

I just can't make the desktop feel right, and I strongly dislike Konqueror. Having said that, I love Kaffeine, Amarok, K3b, Ktorrent... It's a pain lol.

You know after using gnome from an ubuntu install at work, I have actually setup KDE like the default gnome way with the 2 panels.

Here is a screenshot :

I have found that to be a pretty nice setup.

I'm going to do it. With a bit of convincing by some at the Ubuntu Forums, a bit of convincing from you guys, and a desire to learn KDE in time for KDE4, I've made the switch. Now, to see if I can stick with it...
