I have been really happy with my move from Azureus to ktorrent overall. However there is one feature I really miss. Pause and Resume downloads.

In Azureus they have an option with the context menu in the tray to pause and resume downloads. This is helpful if you don't have all the torrents active but you want to temporarily stop them. With the current interface there is a stop all and start all, but this will start every torrent, not just the few you had going when you stopped. I would love to see this in the next release of ktorrent.

Also another feature that would be nice... a way to choose more specific speeds. In Azureus when you select a speed for either download or upload it would change the speeds to a closer value of the one you had selected so you can fine tune it.

An example...

My line is a 256/256 and I have found that when seeding I get the best performance when my upload is set at 22kbps. Within the context menu from the ktorrent tasktray I can set my upload to either 20 or 25, so for me to get the 22 I have to go into the options of ktorrent to manually change it. In Azureus it would also give me the 20 and 25 but if I selected one of them it would then give me closer values within it. So if I selected 20 it would give me 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25 so I can fine tune it.

I have no idea how hard these would be to implement currently or if it will have to wait for the port to KDE4 (which I hope isn't the case). Hopefully they are already on the todo list.

Also if you can get them into a SVN version I would be happy to test them for you.

Hmm, I think we have this functionality internally for some features, but I'm not quite sure (The QM is mostly Ivan's work).

Why not, but don't ask me when we can get to this.

Pausing torrents is indeed a usefull option. We currently have such a mechanism for bandwidth scheduler plugin but I'm not quite sure we can just use it. It probably needs some tweaking. I'll see what I can do.
