In gnome, after enabling the rss plugin ktorrent's icon replaces the gnome menu's icon (the one with the foot) or appears beneath it in the best case; the place where it should be is allocated bt remains empty and doesn't function when you click on it.

After stopping and relaunching several times now it worked right even with the rss plugin, but it's clear it's not reliable. I'm not sure what causes it.

I can't get it to work right anymore. Btw I enabled both tray icon and speed bar in tray icon.

EDIT: did some more testing and looks like there's a process that doesn't exit
immediately with ktorrent and which if it stays causes ktorrent when u start it to display it's tray icon outside the tray:

Euhm, that's weird. I'm not really sure what we can do about it. We just use the KDE libraries to show the system tray icon, so either the KDE libs screw up or the gnome system tray.

Btw, those kio_file processes are nothing to worry about.

Yeah except if I start ktorrent before the kio process dies the tray icon shows beneath the panel. I had another case right now starting ktorrent for the first time when it replaced the gnome foot icon for the menu, so more is wrong here. It replaced it in function too not just the icon clicking on it brought ktorrent to the front or displayed it if minimized.
