Mon May 21, 2007 7:59 pm
Hi!

I'm translator of Ubuntu, and I have translated some phrases of Ktorrent. If you are interested i can translate the website, the FAQ, etc to Spanish.

That would be nice, but before you consider doing this, you have to maintain this, so every time we change the website, you will have to change the translation.

When I said that, i thought hard about it. I'm user of Open Source Software so I contribute the best i can. I can translate also the updates in Ktorrent without any problem.. the target is to bring GNU/Linux to everyone : )

OK, so how do we do this with the current PHP and HTML code ? I'm not really sure how to handle internationalization with PHP.

We can "save" the strings on variables in different files (lang_en.php, lang_es.php, lang_jp.com for example) and include them depending the language selected (We can save the language selected on a $_SESSION variable keeping it saved trought browsing). I'm php developer if you want help to deal with this dont doubt to ask : >
