Bug in 2.2beta1

Wed May 30, 2007 5:08 pm
The bug I found has to do with saving the proper download directory of the downloading torrents upon exit. It appears it only affects torrents with a number at either the beginning or the end of the torrent name.

As the following were affected:

    2001 A Space Odyssey (Odyseja kosmiczna 2001) (1968) [DivX] [DVDRip] [Napisy PL]

    Blackadder Season 2

    Blackadder Season 3

    Blackadder Season 4

Creating directores such as "~/movie/Blackadder Season 2/Blackadder Season 2/"

And the torrent completely restarts from 0%

While other downloads without a number at either the beginning or end restart completely fine.

For example:
I
ndiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark(Xvid)(Darkside_RG)

Schindlers.List.1993.INTERNAL.DVDRip.XviD-PARTiCLE.[www.descargasweb.net]

I tried that 2001 torrent and it did not happen.

What kind of directory settings are you using ? Do you have a default download location ?

I don't have a default download directory; however I did at one point so those old ones are listed below. This is an excerpt from the configuration file.

Code: Select all
[downloads]
completedDir=/home/anon/movie
dhtSupport=true
externalIP=
guiUpdateInterval=3
httpTrackerProxy=
keepSeeding=false
lastSaveDir=/home/anon/movie/
maxDownloads=3
maxTotalConnections=200
maxUploadRate=20
saveDir=/home/anon/movie
showPopups=false
showSystemTrayIcon=true
tempDir=/home/anon/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/
torrentCopyDir=/home/anon

I can confirm this, it has been happening ever since I upgraded.
Maybe it has something to do with filesystem specific 100% pre-allocation?

Nope.

With basic prealloc, after restart:
Image
„tt” is the torrent's top dir with 3 files in it, and „top_testdir” is the place where I chose to save it. (Did you know that FS specific prealloc works only with XFS and for other filesystems the basic method is used? :roll:)

The torrent's top dir is doubled again…

I've played with it a little and I've found out that if I'll remove the „tt” (more generally: torrent's the top dir) from „OUTPUTDIR” in „stats” file, it starts OK and is 'immune' to next restarts…

Other thing is that, if I'm saving the torrent to the „Automatic save location” (despite the fact, that I've got it disabled) and it has slash on the end, as I've already mentioned in other topic, the „tt” isn't added to „OUTPUTDIR”.

BTW: what function the „cancel” button has on this dialog? After pressing it this dialog pops up again, and again, and again…

This also happened to me with a few torrents. The folder names don't all have numbers in them, but one thing they have in common is that the torrent has a top level directory, and that directory is repeated when the torrent gets resumed later.

Also when this happens, I'm prompted to recreate the files. But if I select No, the torrent is moved to the Uploads, with 0 completion.

Using ktorrent 2.2~0dev~r666678~7.04prevu1 Ubuntu Feisty package from buntudot.org.

OK, I seemed to have reproduced this myself with a torrent which already had data present.

It is fixed, we were making symlinks in a non-existing directory, which resulted in an exception being thrown and the CUSTOM_OUTPUT_NAME flag not being set in the stats file.
