Both the 2.2beta and 2.2rc1 main window ends up being bigger then my screen(at 1024 and 1280 resolutions). I can resize horizontally, but not vertically. Everything else seems to be running fine.
This is a new bug, as 2.14 worked great. I am running Ubuntu 7.04 and tried different builds, but all give the same problem. |

Same here but I'm using Mandriva so Ubuntu is not the problem. I think Beryl is a more likely candidate. It happens when the window for the info widget and statistics widget are maximized (minimized ktorrent fits in my screen). Horizontally the application windows fits but vertically the window is to large for my screen. If I mouse click the application window the top or the bottom of the window is shown on the screen.

I'm not running Beryl. Just the standard metacity. Resizing worked fine in 2.14. Maybe something new in the interface programing.
Forgot to mention that when I try to maximize it just drops off the sidebars and sits there. It does not get any bigger then what it was before. |

I had something similar to this with ktorrent 2.2dev and I think it had to do with the "peer" window/section being too high. When you click on "peers" to bring up the peers and you resize that section and drag the window too high, like all the way up to where you can only see 1 torrent but many peers, you will not be able to make ktorrent smaller, thinner yes but not smaller until you move the section with the peers in it down to expose a few torrents. Sorry if my terminology is off, but try resizing the section displaying the peers of the current torrent and see if that affects it.
I am using Kubuntu feisty fawn (7.?) |

If I turn off the info widget I can make KTorrent small enough to fit on one page, but if I turn on the widget or the stat widget It makes itself bigger then screen again and I can't resize.
Thanks for the advice. Thou, still hoping for a bug fix. |

Hi, I have the same problem but I can't resize horizontally. I am running beryl on a kde environment under ubuntu feisty.
Ktorrent resizes fine when beryl is run on gnome (metacity). Any ideas? |

The rumours are that this is fixed in the nightlies. Just wait to rc2 is out and you should be fine.

Hi, sid32,
I have the same sizing problem in ubuntu... You say it has been fixed in the nightlies, but the person providing the SVN snapshots is no longer doing them (from another thread), so the question is, do you know where I can get .debs of the nightlies? Or when will the RC2 be released? It's just that RC1 works oh so beautifully, except for that little bug, and I'd hate to have to go back to 1.14. |

Hi,
as already posted on kde-apps.org, I've the same problem since 2.2rc1 with the horizontal width of the window. My solution was to deactivate the statusline, which was to long in my case. It told me something about 'no incoming connections, probably firewalled' plus the stats for the connections (yes, there were some!). So the line got to long, forcing ktorrent to widen the main window. Btw. my resolution is also 1024x768. Greetings m0nk |

Same here with 2.2 final, kubuntu feisty, with kwin (so it does not seem to be a wm problem) : I can't resize the window horizontally, below a certain width that is bigger than my screen (though it is 1280 !).
Disabling the status bar solves this. But that is no real solution, since I need that status bar ! [edit]Btw, this is not the only problem with window sizes. The new pref window now does not fit anymore in my screen (whose height is 800, and with which I have big fonts). So I cannot reach the "ok" or "cancel" buttons anymore. Also, the folder picking window has a too big width (it was already so in privious versions). That the dialog is big, I can understand (but well, it would be better for it to be less than a few hundred pixels). But even if that is so, I should be allowed to resize it, at the price of scrollbars, but ok so be it. Here it is even worse because I cannot resize the too large dialogs, which is imho really bad design ! (Changing the topic, I think your new UI is really better than the old one, if we forget those bugs. Great work !) |
