Hi!
I installed ktorrent 2.2 on my FC7 system. So far, so good. However, there are some features I miss (or can't find). - When importing torrents with the scanfolder plugin, an option to make the torrents stopped by default. (or when adding torrents in any other way) - Some tables do not autosort the rows when a value changes (for example, the files tab, when sorted by % complete) - When I sort in descending order, the arrow in the column header should point downwards, but currently points upwards. And the behavior should reverse when sorting in ascending order. This seem to be inverted in every column table in the program. - An option to close the program with the X button in the upper right corner, no need to open "File -> Quit" I think that's all for now Thanks! |

Why ? If you don't want to run a torrent, you can just not open it.
The arrow points the way the elements get bigger, when you sort descending the lowest element will be bottom, so the arrow points upwards.
Disable the system tray icon if you want that. |

Because there are some data about a torrent (like files it contains, size of the files, etc) that you can see while it is stopped but no while it's not added. It's good to add the torrents in stoped state and start them when (for example) you have enough free space, or you need them the most, or other criteria.
That seems to be counter-intuitive to me, not to mention the fact that it works the opposite to almost any other software I have ever seen. But it's not that important, I guess.
That's exactly why I request the option, because I love the tray icon, it provides so much useful information with just a few pixels. Should I remove it just to enable a (in my opinion) totally unrelated feature? Regards. |

Actually it seems we already have that feature in 2.2 (totally forgot about it , in the file selection dialog you need to enable user controlled and then you can uncheck the start torrent checkbox.
I think you will find that other KDE apps work the same way, just open a directory with konqueror and select the Info List View mode.
As far as I know most apps with a tray icon work this way. The point of a tray icon is to have a program running in the background. So, it makes sense to not shutdown the program when you click the X. |

So linux should do the same simply because MS and Apple do it? I don't think so. Besides, popular software like Azureus, uTorrent and eMule (also aMule) have the option to close with the X icon, even while showing the tray icon. Regards. |

Another example of this behavior is the MSN Messenger that installed by default with Windows XP. There is an option that is selected by default called "Run program in background" I think, and if you de-select it, clicking the X will quite the application instead of just hiding the messenger. I don't know if MS kept this feature with newer version of messenger though. |

I also want to see some features like :
A notification balloon ( let's say ), when a new result added to our RSS feeds. The ability to chose the order of torrents download. What I mean is, when I dowload 3 torrents I want to set an order, witch on will be downloaded first, second etc, Also a shutdown feature will be good, So we can chose whenever our Desktop is going to shutdown. That would work perfectly, if we download some torrent and we want our Desktop to Shutdown right after a specific torrent download end's. That can be done also with "Web Interface" plugin but I don't have internet or an Internet device whenever I go [ yet ] . PS: sorry for my but English |

This already exists, check out the queue manager. If you only want to DL a limited number of torrents at a time then you have to change the preferences to specify that, otherwise the queue manager doesn't do much. For instance if you set ktorrent to only download 4 torrents at a time and have 6 in your download list, the queue manager will download the first 4 in the list and as each one completes it'll start downloading the next in the list. |
