It will be awesome that Ktorrent was unable to be password protected as Azureus is.

For shared computers. This prevent configuration changes, and status changes.

How about using different users?
If your biggest concern is about configuration changes in KTorrent, ...

I do not see a point in password protected apps.

The proper solution is to use multiple user accounts, shared computers with one user account, that is so Windows like.
