I have several suggestions:
1) Now, in General Options, we can indicate a directory for the temporary files, a directory of download (by defect) and a directory where to move the completed files. I believe that so many directories are not necessary. The temporary directory would have to be where (in addition to other data) the files always download until being completed, and the download directory (that returns to ask when adding torrent) would have to be where the completed file moves finally. For my, he does not have sense to mix in a directory finished and unfinished files. 2) On the other hand, I download and share many files. For my it is difficult to know at a certain moment the files that KTorrent has finalized. It would be necessary to implement a method of warning of finished download: to send a mail, a file that were updated with the date and the name of the file or another similar system of warning but that was permanent, to be able to consult it at any time. 3) This other suggestion I suppose that it would be more difficult to implement at the moment: To break ties the KTorrent's nucleus and the GUI, in the style of the MLDonkey+Sancho. Thus allowing, to be able to take the KTorrent like a service at the beginning of the system (independently of the session of the user) and to consult the downloads, etc… from the GUI at any time, but without forcing to have the open GUI so that KTorrent works.

You don't have to use these features, other people find them very usefull. We have added the completed directory stuff upon the request of several people.
Maybe we can add something like this when we add scripting support in the kde4 version. E-mail notifications could be a nice demonstration script.
That is a lot of hassle for something which is of very little use to most people. |
