Because your machine is single-core. Mine is such too and I didn't have any crashes. However, that patch as in 2.2.3 didn't fix the problem either. GUI would simply block after a second or so (not instantly though, so that was an improvement) until 7000+ files get loaded into infowidget.

Ok, I discovered some soft spots in my code... I'll work on them later.
