It seems like ever since 2.2.0 that the stop all and start all hasn't worked correctly. Whenever I select Start/Stop All it only takes that action to the current tab (ie downloads or uploads). Then I have to change to the other tab to Start or stop those. Ideally this button should do both uploads and downloads. Another problem I noticed is if you have more torrents queued up (that haven't been allocated) to download then you have your max set to, then select Stop All, it will stop the current ones downloading, then it will allocate the other torrents, then when that is done it will stop those torrents. Hopefully you can get it to Stop the torrents before it starts creating them rather than after.
There have also been a handful of times that when I start ktorrent, the infowidget will not allow any input or show any information. All boxes will be completely greyed out. Unfortunately I wouldn't have the foggiest idea on how to get you any debugging information on this because ktorrent doesn't crash. In fact it will still work on the torrents as usual but you just can't view any information in the infowidget. When this happens I just quit ktorrent then open it back up and everything is as it should be. Some of the feature requests I am pretty sure have been mentioned on here before, but I will try to go a little more in depth. With the incoming connections icon (firewalled icon) in the bottom left corner port forwarded icon, would it be possible to add a little green box with a checkmark when ktorrent determines there are incoming connections? I can't imagine it being too hard. My other feature request has to do with the queue manager. I realize you probably won't be changing this until the KDE 4 port, but I was hoping I could give you some ideas, because last I heard you were still trying to figure out how to do it. My suggestion is to do away with the queue manager. In my opinion it isn't all that great of a feature. I find myself shutting down ktorrent if I want to pause downloads quickly just so I don't have to go back in and add everything back into the queue manager. I think azureus nailed this one on the nose. Just have priority numbers in the main window, and you just move your torrents up and down based on how you want them to download. If you want to stop one torrent just stop it and then another one will take its place. But it will still have its priority number, so when you start it back up it will stay where it was. Also if you want to bypass the queue features you could have a force start button or just user-controlled. This is basically how yours is set up now, but this would bypass the window and give everything you need on the main window, which I feel is much better. It would add too many buttons, an up and down and possibly send to top and send to bottom. For the force you could just have that in the context menu when you right click on the torrent. Hope I explained this well enough and I want to thank everyone for the time and effort they take to make this an excellent program. Jeremy |

That is the intended behavior, if you want to stop all in one go, open a tab with shows all the torrents (groups tab on the side).
Probably a QM bug, will check it out.
Have you tried selecting a torrent ?
That icon will dissappear when incoming connections are detected.
That is a possibility, we haven't really decided yet how the QM will look like in the KDE4 port. I need to get started on that one of these days. |

Ok I didn't realize that you had intended that... I just figured it was a bug.
Yes I have tried selecting torrents and switching between the upload and download tab. Nothing works except restarting. I kinda wish when it would do this that it would crash then at least I would have something to work toward.
I realize that. I just thought this would be a nice touch.
Another benefit of doing the queue manager this way is you can sort by the priority of download, which has been requested a few times in the forum. Thanks again for all the work you do to make this an awesome program Jeremy |
That is very strange, normally when you switch tabs or select a torrent, the tabs on the bottom should be updated. I haven't seen this go wrong every since I implemented this.
I realize that. I just thought this would be a nice touch.
Maybe this is not a bad idea for the port, I'm planning to make this thing work with the UPnP plugin anyway, so we might as well show an everything OK on the firewall front icon. |

I'd like to be able to have kTorrent decide download priorities based on download speed and/or number of seeders, similar to uTorrent. For instance, I set maximum download slots to 8. Only the 8 fastest or 8 most seeded torrents take the open slots. A minimum download speed could do the trick. Any torrent that drops below that threshold gets downgraded in priority. Anything below a pre-set very low download rate doesn't get counted as a download slot at all.
|
