Hi there,
Ktorrent keeps crashing on multiple torrents from the same site. I tried to track down the bug or at least get a trace of the crash, but I wasn't able to do so. I've tried to enable "debug=full" compile flag but for some odd reason there are no debug messages, only " kdevelop (core ) " messages about the GUI. How can I trace that bug, it is really annoying since everytime KTorrent crash I will be band for an hour from the tracker. Thanks Ubuntu Gutsy/Amd64 ( kde 3.5.8 ) KTorrent - svn rev727571 also 2.2.1 |

The tracker is private ( www.arabfilms.org ) and the invitation system is disabled currently. However, I don't mind giving you my username and password if you like by e-mail. (P.S: The site only contains arabic files, movies, etc.)
I've update KTorrent to latest svn version and I am testing it currently, I will inform you in case of another crash. |

Nope, nothing changed KTorrent keeps crashing specially while adding new files to download. It can be also related to heavy usage like many downloads, seedings, and adding new torrents.
What I can't understand so far, why it doesn't generate a debug trace or at least a crash report ? It dies quietly and peacefully |

Isn't the latest svn rev ? if so then yes, the behavior still the same. KTorrent keeps crashing under heavy usage. I've disabled most of the plugins (rss feed, etc) and I am testing it again, so far it didn't crash. I will wait till tomorrow to confirm that. |

I've no idea what causes this, I thought it was the multiple torrents from Konqueror ( KTorrent still crashes with those here), but yesterday it also crashed during normal usage. Maybe, it has something to do with the encoding of the torrent contents ( mostly utf-8 & cp 1256 ). I've compiled KTorrent with --enable-debug=full but KTorrent doesn't produce any log messages or debug ones. Also, when it crashes it doesn't produce any Kde-bug dialog. The only crash report that I am able to see, is when you logout while KTorrent is running and it will complain about libthreadxx (not sure about the name ?) was not able to produce debug trace. |

Looks like it is related to the zeroconf plugin.
Since 2.2.1 there have been some bugfixes in that area, but they have not been released yet. But they will be in the upcomming 2.2.3 release. In the mean time you can just unload the zeroconf plugin, and the crash should go away. |

Sorry, I offered this for debugging purposes only. Now the problem is resolved, it was zero conf bug as mentioned by george. |
