Strange behaviour when moving files

Tue Nov 27, 2007 9:36 pm
Moving finished downloads often creates some strange effect in KTorrent since Version 2.2.4.: the GUI sort of freezes (up- and download-rates are still shown, but I can't click any buttons etc.), and the moving-process takes ages (about 2 Minutes for 500 MB although the source-folder is on the same partition as the destination). Every once in a while the typical KDE-file-dialogue pops up for a millisecond to show the progress. After that, KTorrent goes on working perfectly (except for the occasional crashes when removing a torrent).

However, this does not happen with all downloaded files. About two thirds of my attempts work fine.

Unfortunately I do not know how to get any error-output from KTorrent.

Used System : openSUSE 10.3 / KDE 3.5.8 / KTorrent 2.2.4 (compiled it myself).

I haven't looked at the code, but I believe ktorrent does a data integrity check after the move, so for large files it may take a while depending on your system.

No we don't do that.

Anyway I will see if I can reproduce this.
