Currently i have several seeds that i would like to have priority over the others. Possibly High Normal Low options select how you want to seed your torrents.

In fact, I'd personally love to see the concept of prioritizing downloads implemented in an even more finely-grained fashion: multi-file torrents often feature some sort of dependencies, be it chronologically or logically, i.e. a multi-file audio torrent may consist of multiple mp3 files, all named from file-001.mp3 to file-034.mp3, the same applies to downloading other "series" of files (think of documentaries/videos, interactive courses or tutorialss, even ebooks (chapter1.pdf chapter2.pdf chapter3.pdf etc) ) in the form of torrents, in such cases it may make sense to not only allow for global download prioritizing, but also for torrent-specific priorities based on which files in a multi-file torrent should be downloaded first, in order to ensure that a basic download order (i.e. ascending/descending or manual configuration) should be followed so that users can actually start working with already downloaded files

Having this optional is nice, i agree, utorrent has this too i believe. I almost not dare to ask George as he probably already has a lot of other work todo.

While I am not really very familiar with uTorrent, as far as I know prioritizing downloads of multi-file torrents on a file-specific basis is not yet supported. Also, it's worth pointing out that this should preferably be optional and that it would only be applicable/active in a situation where there is equal availability for any given set of files with different retrieval priority, in a situation where availability is not equal, it would not make sense to throttle down transfer of other files.

However, assuming a situation like the following with descending retrieval priority:

file1.ext
file2.ext
file3.ext
...
file11.ext
file12.ext
file13.ext

... it would make sense to only throttle down file transfers which would be conflicting with files that have a higher transfer priority

Just to clarify, in part this is already implemented and available in ktorrent, (as i.e. discussed in some of the other threads here) - that is, you CAN already do some basic priority-customization for multi-file torrent FILES on an individual basis manually. However, as far as I am aware, there is currently no way to basically configure some sort of "preferred download order" for such multi-file downloads, where the user would basically tell ktorrent the preferred order of retrieval and whenever in doubt (and feasible), ktorrent would try to implement this desire by prioritizing downloads of files which are equally available, but more "requested".

All the best,
