make/make install errors

Wed Jan 02, 2008 4:08 pm
Hello,

I'm fairly new to linux and might be doing something simple incorrectly, but I can't seem to get the newest ktorrent to install properly.

I am able to compile the source with no issues, however, upon using the "make" command I am getting:

Code: Select all
In file included from ../../libktorrent/mse/encryptedauthenticate.h:25,
                 from peermanager.cpp:36:
../../libktorrent/mse/bigint.h:26:17: error: gmp.h: No such file or directory
../../libktorrent/mse/bigint.h:93: error: 'mpz_t' does not name a type
make[4]: *** [peermanager.lo] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/nick/Desktop/ktorrent-2.2.4/libktorrent/torrent'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/nick/Desktop/ktorrent-2.2.4/libktorrent'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/nick/Desktop/ktorrent-2.2.4/libktorrent'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/nick/Desktop/ktorrent-2.2.4'
make: *** [all] Error 2

There is plenty more before that, but this is the first area I begin to see Error messages and numbers. I read another post in the forum that recognized the problem as not being logged in root. I am, however, root. I get the same error when running 'make install' as well.

Any tips or suggestions are really appreciated.

I am running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04.

You are missing the libgmp headers :

sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev

Then it should compile

Thank you so much! It appears I should have asked earlier instead of troubleshooting til no end for a day or two.

I appreciate it a bunch.
