Bug: Ktorrent takes much screen space

Mon Jan 07, 2008 11:22 pm
Using Gnome on Ubuntu if that matters.

When clicking the "Status", "Files", etc buttons on the bottom of Ktorrent 2.2.4, the window gets bigger. Clicking it again, I would expect it to resize back, but it doesn't.

Also, when using my LCD TV as output, clicking those buttons makes Korrent cover both the current workspace and the one below. And then some. The window wraps itself around to have its bottom shown at the top of top workspace. In addition: Not having it resize back properly makes it a 5 step process to make the window back to a usable state.

Thanks for any feedback on this.

No response? This bug is still very real for me (now at 2.2.5), so please see the screencast and fix this.

Must have missed this one.

I cannot reproduce this behavior. And I don't see much reason why the list of torrents should be come so big, even if there are many in it.

Are you sure this has nothing to do with compiz fusion ? Does it also happen if you disable those effects ?

Yep, and with Metacity running I can't even seem to fix it, because I have no way of making the window wrap around the workspaces/viewports.

Also note, that all those bottom left buttons give this problem.

Third note: Ktorrent is not resizable enough on my laptop either. I don't get this precise problem (because I don't have enough torrents going), but the window can't be resized below a certain size, taking up more than 1/4 of my 12,1" screen.

Possible workaround

Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:54 pm
BTW: A possible workaround that would make this a little easier to handle is to have an option to get away from the view that the bottom left buttons give from the menus. Catgory: "View" maybe?
