I apologize if this has already been implemented, but I couldn't figure out how if it is.

When I download a torrent with a lot of files, I liket o set the first two or three files to High priority, and then the three after that to normal. the rest to don't download.

when the high priority ones finish, I change them to normal, then I change the normal to high priority, and start the three after that, that way I don't have to wait for the whole album of season to download before I can view the first files.

now that azureus is terrible. I am lost.

deluge is alright, but it would be really cool if a kdeapp could do this.

If you can already do this, maybe If you could tell me how I would be greatful, and would be delighted to not have to run deluge, which is way resource hungry.

thanks in advance

Select a torrent, then Klick Files on the bottom and change whatever you want.

WRT prioritzing downloads ...

Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:33 pm
I think this is somewhat related to my comment in the other thread concerning more finely grained prioritizing of downloads, so that basically some sort of "preferred download order" can be configured, to tell KTorrent which files should be downloaded first PREFERABLY, so that KT can for example determine which files have a download priority and thus postpone downloading other files which are equally available, but not yet "preferred", due to files having a chronological order.

Given the approach discussed in this thread, it may however be more feasible to consider simply providing a plugin that implements a scripting inteface on top of the plugin API, so that arbitrary scripts can be provided for different purposes and usage scenarios. This might then include a script that will automatically do what's been proposed in this thread by the OP.

All the best,

As an aside, there's one minor usability glitch that prevents users from easily selecting/unselecting files from multi-file torrents, which is traditionally accomplished by using CTRL/SHIFT and the cursor keys/mouse to mark (space) files, while selection works for multiple files, trying to check/uncheck ALL marked files will result in only one single file's status being changed, rather than iterating over all currently selected files in order to toggle their status accordingly.
