ScanFolderPlugin makes ktorrent crash

Fri Mar 14, 2008 11:33 am
Hi

I don't know if that bug has already been submitted. Sorry if it was.
I have an Opensuse 10.3 64bits and I'm using ktorrent 3.0.0 with kde 4.0.2 "release 12.1"
I had the problem that ktorrent wouldn't start more than 3 sec after the first use.
I found that it was caused by the change of the configuration. Doing it step by step, I found that it was caused by the activation of the ScanFolder plugin.

by the way thanks for that great app!

I can reproduce this, so it should not take long to fix.

It's proving to be a pretty annoying crash, and the only way I can reproduce it is by starting up ktorrent without the plugin loaded, then load the plugin and open a torrent via the plugin and then at the next restart I get this crash. But if I start it again after that, the crash doesn't happen.

Very weird, I'm not even sure if it is our fault.

scanfolderplugin crash

Wed Jun 04, 2008 4:33 am
I've noticed that the ONLY way I can get it to work is to create a new folder, point the plugin folder to it. after like 2-3 torrents dropped in it (as I have my import folder set up as a network share) ktorrent will crash and the ONLY way I can get it to open is to delete the folder and launch ktorrent and disable the folder.

My folder is on the same logical volume that ktorrent was launched from, and has full r/w/x access.

I agree, its very VERY annoying but definately NOT enough to make me stop using ktorrent :)
