You can just open a file from the files tab, so I don't see the need for this.

Yes, is possible direct open with media player, but why we cant use direct show in ktorrent windows (and maybe is possible use for this DragonPlayer KPart) - like in File Open dialog... few clients for Windows have this too and i think is better solution. (sorry, my english is very bad)

I think that it would be ggod to be able to preview audio and video clips. However for the to happen ktorrent needs to grab the first few chunks of the file first rather than based on availability. Utorrent does this so the code may be already available.

We also prioritize the first few chunks of video or audio files.

How many chunks do you have download first? The reason that I ask is that it doesn't seem to grab the first few MBs that would be necessary for a useful preview.

Currently it is set to one percent + 1 chunk of all the chunks in the file.

Is there a way to change that value?

I tested this a little more, and it seems that the current code does not work well on previewing HighDefinition 1920pixel movies. How would we fix this?

I will make it configurable so we can experiment with different file types and then we can choose some decent default values.

It is configurable now, in the advanced settings you can set the sizes for audio and video files. I have chosen 256 KB for audio and 2 MB for videos as the default.
