Merge Pause and Stop buttons.

Fri Mar 21, 2008 4:37 pm
Hi,

In my opinion it would be better if those two buttons would merge.
it can by achieved this way:
- stopping any torrent is in fact pausing, isn't it? So we can remove Pause button
- When I want to resume torrents, I simply click Start or Start All, and it will resume those downloads that were paused.
- Crucial thing here is not to erase any settings from Queue Manager which were set before first pausing. So "starting" will simply turn on paused torrents and nothing else.

As far as i know you won't lose any functionality in Ktorrent after those changes. But it will be easier to use for typical user. It is hard to say what is the difference between stop and pause for new ktorrent user.

Greetings.

I use for tests Ktorrent3.1dev from openSUSE KDE4unstable repository

Pushing start all, and not having all torrents started, doesn't really strike me as doing what the button advertises.

Further more the intention of the pause button is to allow people to pause the current state of all torrents and to continue later one, as if nothing had happened. This is totally different from the intention of start all and stop all.
