Horizontal Group tabs?

Fri Mar 21, 2008 5:11 pm
Hi,

groups tab is now situated vertically, on the left. I suggest to move it down, and put horizontally.

See mockup ->
Image

On the left are "groups". There is also arrow left and arrow right. You can change groups by clicking on those arrows. (Thunderbird 2.0 uses something similar for mail folders). Furthermore click on name "groups" and window will pop up. It will show all those groups in some way (maybe even the same as showing groups now). In my opinion this would be better in usability for typical user.

If it is not possible then please add an option in configuration to show/hide Groups tabs. There are users which doesn't need all those groups and would like to hide this vertical groupstab.

Greetings.

hmm, today I think that it wasn't such a good idea :> Current Groups tab isn't good, but my suggestion would only unclutter UI. However it wouldn't make selection of groups much easier. So there is no real advantage ;/

Maybe someone has a better sugestion for this?

The groups tab was put on the left because the data in it is more vertical then horizontal. If you put it below, you have a huge whitespace which isn't used.
