Where are translations pulled from?

Fri Mar 28, 2008 12:29 pm
Hello,

I committed an updated Norwegian translation (nb) two weeks ago to
trunk/l10n-kde4/nb/messages/extragear-network/

Is there a separate place for the stable branches? If so, can anyone help me find it? :)

We have stopped using stable branches, string freeze is done in trunk, and the translations are directly taken from trunk when we generate a package.

Could you check what happened to the Norwegian (nb) translation? I updated it two weeks ago but it was not included in 3.0.1.

There is a nb directory in the translations directory with a ktorrent.po file in it. So it is included.

Something different about the translation. I noticed that whole the menu with "settings" does not have translation entries in the po file. I guess this is a bug?

EDIT
It also looks like the statsplugin does not have any entries in the po file.
(you could check with the Dutch translation which is up to date)
Code: Select all
msgfmt -o ktorrent.mo ktorrent.po
mkdir ~/.kde4/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES/
mv ktorrent.mo ~/.kde4/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES/.

EDIT2
Logviewerpanelplugin is not translated either, copy and select all need an entry.

EDIT3
Paste in the main toolbar is also not translated.

Turns out I had an outdated .mo file installed. I'm terribly sorry for wasting your time; I thought emerge would overwrite it.

Bear with me now, but I have one more question :)

The GenericName for KTorrent has been translated in the nb version of desktop_extragear-network_ktorrent.po for some time, but it has not been added to the ktorrent.desktop file. Should I add it there manually? (I have KDE SVN access, but don't want to mess something up :P )

It should, but apparently it hasn't in this case.
