I have some torrent that has size 2.05 GB (the biggest file is 2.03 GB) and already downloaded it in 60%.

Code: Select all
zajec@linux:~/wedding> ls --size -1 -h
total 1,3G
 36K wedding.idx
1,3G wedding.mp4
4,0K wedding.nfo
4,0K wedding.sfv
2,5M wedding.sub

Everyting except wedding.mp4 is downloaded in 100%. So as you can calculate, I need 2.03G-1.3G which is 0.73G.

Code: Select all
zajec@linux:~> df -h
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2              11G  4.7G  5.7G  46% /
udev                  251M   84K  251M   1% /dev
/dev/sda3              62G   61G  1.2G  99% /home
I do have 1.2G which is enought I belive. For some reason when I try to start my torrent KTorrent popups:

Torrent cannot be started
Cannot start wedding
There is not enought diskspace available

P.S.
This is about KTorrent 3.0.1

There is a setting for minimum disk space available when a torrent is completed. Are you taking that settings value into account in your calculations?

Also, ktorrent checks the actual bytes required, not the estimated 1.2GB. You may actually need 1.245324GB or so.

Where do you see that? I can see only two options about diskspace in Settings → Configure KTorrent → Advanced → Disk Space but not a one of theses is about minimum disk space

I guess this could be a problem in case of low difference between needed space and available space. In this case difference is about 500MB so that shouldn't be a problem I guess.

I uninstalled my copy of 3.0.1 since it didn't have the RSS feeds, but in 2.2.5 it's under the "Downloads" menu and is called "Minimum Disk Space" I believe the default is around 100MB

It's located with some other Queue Manager settings on that screen.

George: could you explain how does it work in KTorrent 3.0?

Whether or not to start the torrent when diskspace is low can be configured in the QM settings.

I have found a bug in the disk usage computation which can cause stuff to go wrong with large files. So this should be fixed.
