I've just changed from using 2.x.x versions of ktorrent to using 3.0.1 and on the whole it is really nice.
However, the bandwidth scheduler is really clunky and takes forever to create rules for an entire week. I'm going to list the things that I like: - the scheduler settings shows up in a new tab in the main view things that I dislike: -you cannot click on time slots to change their properties - in the dialog box you cannot select arbitrary times e.g. 19:00 to 07:00 (the next day). - 20:00 -> 23:59 and then 00:00->07:30, does this mean that at between those two slots 1 minute is not covered? -You have to do each day individually (aaargh!), maybe a solution would be to enable one to drag boxes onto the next day? There is obviously a very good reason that the usable scheduler was changed into the one we have now (Qt4 limitations?), so is it going to be fixed in the future? |

There are no time slots, getting rid of slots is what we had to do, to be able to support finer grained time periods.
Maybe we should add that
No we always add 59 seconds to the end time. So there should be no gap.
The plan is to make the boxes resizeable by mouse, and allow you to expand them to other days (creatring another entry).
The old one was very limited due to the fact that you were forced to work in hours. This also made it very simple. For 3.0 it was time to allow finer granularity (minute based), so the old way of editing the scheduler could no longer be used. So during the KDE4 port I pieced together this scheduler, I have kept it pretty simple, my intention was to expand it later on to support more fancier editing features (resizing boxes for example). Since then I have been busy with other stuff, and seeing that not many people have asked for new features in the scheduler, it has moved down on the list of priorities. But it is still on my todo list, and I am still hoping to get the resizing in for the 3.1 release. |
