[3.1beta1] Compilation error

Fri May 09, 2008 1:30 pm
I have Kubuntu 8.04 KDE4 and I have KDE 4.0.4 and QT 4.4 (from Unsupported Repository).

Firstly I use command:
sudo apt-get build-dep ktorrent-kde4
this download dependencies for ktorrent from repo (version 3.0.1)

I try to compile the newest version and I can't.
In bottom I attach log from configuration:
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/lib/kde4 ..

CMake Error: This project requires some variables to be set,
and cmake can not find them.
Please set the following variables:
QT_QT_INCLUDE_DIR

CMake Error: Internal CMake error, TryCompile configure of cmake failed
CMake Error: Could not compile simple test program:
#include <QtCore/QtGlobal>
int main()
{
#ifdef QT_VISIBILITY_AVAILABLE
return 0;
#else
return 1;
#endif
}

-- Configuring done

I got the same error here, going back some revisions from latest svn did not fix it.

Debian/Ubuntu specific bug. Wait for new revision of Qt 4.4 packages.

This is a bad thing. How long would that take?

I can't speak for Ubuntu. 4.4.0-1, which is the one broken, is not in Debian unstable yet, so no harm done for Debian users. Anyway, qglobal.h is misplaced (in the wrong -dev package), you can install libqt4-opengl-dev to workaround the bug.
