Running 2.2.6 in KDE 4.0 on gentoo.
Not sure if this will actually get fixed, but when right clicking on a torrent and trying to select a directory in the "Open Directory" menu option, Konqueror never opens. I know it's trying to open it because I get the little bouncy cursor on my mouse, and it shows in the system tray, but it doesn't succeed. Ktorrent keeps chugging along merrily too, so no crash report. My guess is that the options for Konqueror in the KIO call are different in KDE 4 than KDE 3, or maybe it has to do with the way gentoo installs the libs?

I have /usr/kde/3.5/ and /usr/kde/4.0 directories with bin, libs, and all the other directories there.

when I run `which konqueror` I get /usr/kde/4.0/bin/konqueror, but I don't know if that effects the KIO call or not.

Technically it should open Dolphin anyways since in kde4 that's the file browser, but maybe you can't tell a kde3 app to do that?.

When I tried this, dolphin for KDE3 opens. I then went into the settings and made konqueror the default app for the inode/directory mimetype, and then I tried it again, and konq for KDE3 opened.

So it seems to work here. What if you try to start KDE3 konqueror manually ?

it loads up, but it seems to have lost all my theming since my upgrade.

I'm 90% sure I don't have a full 3.5 install anymore as my upgrade to 4.0 removed a lot of kde3.5 libs that were in the dependency list for other apps.

is there any kind of logging I can turn on to find out what it's doing?

There is not much we do here, we just use the KRun class of the kde libraries. It's only one line of code, which really is nothing more then telling KDE to open the directory or file. This class does not have a way to get back a useful error message if stuff goes wrong. If there was one, we would show an error message.
