Are you using KDE?

If so, you should be able to use the KDEmenu editor to chose an icon on your desktop for any application.

I think he means he wants the old application icon, changing the desktop icon won't do that.

The new one is part of KDE now, it was created by the KDE artists, we really had nothing to do with it. And it is fine for me, seeing that the red green color scheme is on it's way out, the next release will feature a whole set of new icons.
